I'm particularly proud of this illustration. Since I was a child, I've been a fan of Alice's Adventures in Wonderland (first, of Walt Disney's movie, and, years later, of the book, and I wanted to draw a portrait of the Queen of Hearts.
In my opinion, the original illustrations by John Tenniel [link] are spectacular, and I've tried to be faithful to his representation of the Queen in the book. Once I finished, I realized how much resemblance this character has to Queen Victoria. [link] --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Estoy especialmente orgulloso de esta ilustración. Desde pequeño he sido un fan de "Alicia en el País de las Maravillas" (primero de la película de Walt Disney y años más tarde del libro, y hacía tiempo que quería hacer un retrato de la Reina de Corazones. Las ilustraciones originales de John Tenniel [link] me parecen espectaculares, y he intentado aproximarme a su representación de la Reina en el libro. Al acabarlo me he dado cuenta de cuánto se parece este personaje a la Reina Victoria de Inglaterra. [link] |

Yes, when I draw a character from a book, I always try to stay true to the description given by the author. In this case there were Tenniel's drawings, so I used them also as reference.
